New Britain, CT - Feel the Power. That's what the lucky ticket holder of a million Powerball jackpot winning ticket sold in Connecticut will be doing!
CT Lottery officials announce that one lucky ticket in Connecticut matched all 6 numbers drawn for the Wednesday, October 3 drawing. The owner of that ticket is going to walk away with the game's million jackpot, and will have to decide whether to take the 29-year, 30-installment annuity, or the one time cash "lump sum" amount of an estimated million.
Among the 31 lotteries nationwide that sell Powerball, there were 387,560 winning tickets ranging in value from to the million jackpot for Wednesday's drawing. In Connecticut, players held 12,499 of those winning tickets.
The numbers drawn were 2 β 4 β 14 β 15 β 28, and the Powerball was 23. The PowerPlay multiplier was 4.
One other ticket sold in Connecticut correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won 0,000. Because the purchaser of that ticket "activated" the PowerPlay feature at time of purchase, the prize will be multiplied by 4, for a total prize value of 0,000.
The last jackpot prize in Connecticut occurred in June 2005 when a Seymour electronics salesman won .5 million.
The CT Lottery urges all players with tickets for the October 3 drawing to check their numbers and to contact the CT Lottery offices at 860-348-4037 if they are the lucky winning ticket holder.
The jackpot for Saturday, October 6 will be million. Powerball is played in 29 states, as well as the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
