A New Jersey Lottery Ticket of $19M Never Claimed
Thursday, April 26, 2007 posted 10:55 AM EDT
It's the $19 million question. What happened to the person holding the winning New Jersey Lottery ticket from April 24, 2006?
The prize has gone unclaimed, making it the largest jackpot to be returned to the state in recent memory.
Since no one has come forward, the state will receive the cash value of the ticket -- a little more than $10 million.
A lottery spokesman says nearly all the money will be used for education and other state programs. The rest will support special Lottery prize offerings.
The Pick Six ticket was sold at a 24 Seven convenience store in Newark.
