A Bowie County woman has been charged with theft for allegedly stealing lottery tickets from the Redwater store where she worked.
Toby Lynn Fulton, 42, was arrested March 1 on a charge of theft over $4,500 and under $20,000, said Bowie County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Larry Parker. Her bail was set at $15,000.
Parker said Fulton was the manager at the Country Store in Redwater. The alleged thefts occurred between Nov.12 2006, and Jan.4 of this year. The thefts were reported to the sheriff’s office on Jan.11.
Parker said the owner noticed the tickets were missing and called the Texas Lottery Commission.
The lottery commission was able to provide the times and dates when the tickets were cashed in and the resulting investigation led to Fulton’s arrest, Parker said.
Parker said he was not certain how many tickets were stolen.
