Massive $42M Lotto 6/49 prize prompts ticket rush

Long lineups stretched from lottery terminals Saturday as hopeful Canadians purchased their lucky tickets for a massive $42 million Lotto 6/49 jackpot.
The winning numbers were announced Saturday night: 3 10 21 23 33 44. The bonus number was 43.
Everyone who bought tickets had big dreams about how they would spend the money -- some more laudable than others.
"I'm going where even my own wife won't find me," one man told CTV News.
Some wanted to buy yachts, while those who already owned yachts felt there was always room for improvement.
"I'm going to buy a bigger yacht," said one customer.
The rush for tickets was amplified in British Columbia by a free ticket giveaway by the provincial lottery corporation to promote the contest.
In Vancouver, three teams totalling 20 people handed out a total of 500 tickets. In addition, they handed out fortune cookies, Owen Gormley, a spokesman for the B.C. Lotteries Corporation, told CTV.ca on Saturday.
"We're encouraging people to get in on the jackpot fever," he said.
Though thousands of Canadians across the country were anxiously awaiting the results of the draw, it's still short of a Canadian record.
The largest lottery prize in Canadian history was a $54 million Lotto 6/49 contest last October.
The winning ticket belonged to a group of 17 oil workers in Camrose, Alberta.
Each contestant took home more than $3 million.
The odds of pulling a winning ticket in Saturday's contest are one in 14 million.
